ACTIVITES OF THE SOCIETYInformation Exchange The
primary mechanism of information exchange available to NAPRECA Kenya members
and other individuals is participation at our Annual General Meeting, Seminar
days and Summer School. A broad range of topics are covered at NAPRECA meetings
through both oral and poster sessions. A workshop session is usually available
at the beginning of the meeting for those looking for more in-depth knowledge
on a related subject area, as well as informal meetings among the attendees.. Communication The NAPRECA Kenya shall soon start to publish an electronic
newsletter as its primary communication tool to the membership. The NAPRECA
(Kenya) Newsletter shall feature articles on activities of its membership as
well as emerging issues in natural products science around the world. Standard
features such as an Opinion Page, Reports from NAPRECA, Members contributions
and a listing of upcoming events such as local and scientific meetings will be included.
Information such as annual meetings, constitution, sub-committees, elections,
scholarships, research grants, journals, members’ publications, postdoctoral
opportunities and other activities will be included in the newsletter. The
newsletter shall be made available online and some copies distributed. Education Napreca (Kenya) will continue to explore the opportunities to participate in the education of students and educators, the general public, governments, and the private sector on the importance of natural products and their application. In the past, NAPRECA (Kenya) in conjunction with different sponsors has offered Student Travel Awards to students who participate in NAPRECA Meetings by giving an oral or poster presentation. |
